This week I had my very first newborn session! Let me tell you, newborn babes are not always as quiet and sleepy as the innocent photos make them out to be. I now understand why photographers schedule several hours for newborn photography sessions. Newborns have lots of needs with very limited ways of communicating how they feel. That lack of communication can be a struggle, which sometimes results in a crying baby who probably just needs a couple snuggles or a feeding. I did get some very precious and adorable photos in-between all the happenings of little Liberty's life. So my first newborn session did not go quite as planned, but I would do it all over again to have these beautiful, memory making moments for the family to cherish.
The photos below are a sneak peek into little Liberty's newborn session that was done over the course of a few hours with rests in-between for feedings, diaper changes, and snuggles. This baby shark just likes to snuggle with her family and I can't blame her one bit for that.
On a side note, this week I graduated from Lansing Community College with my degree in Photographic Imaging! It has been what feels like a long four years attaining this degree, but I have gained so much knowledge that will help me as I further my career in photography.
